Katja Blum has been a freelance copywriter and translator for much longer than she cares to admit in public. She started writing in the murky semi-Dark Ages of word processing, B.PC., and still hopes to find a working travel typewriter someday.
As a first-generation immigrant from Germany, Katja finds life in the US delightfully odd and perpetually inspirational. She lives in Oklahoma’s Green Country with her husband and youngest son.
As a writer and reader, she is a fan of magical realism, cozy mysteries, gore-free ghost stories and historical fiction set in the 20th century. In her work, Katja often explores the themes of family, roots and new beginnings.
Her first short story collection, Other Arrangements, will be published by Fox and Tulip in November 2017.
